Shazam! actor DJ Cotrona will reunite with his co-star Zachary Levi for Netflix‘s Spy Kids start over.
In accordance Deadline, the actor has joined the cast of the reboot film, directed by Robert Rodriguez. Cotrona has also worked with the director and previously starred in the TV adaptation of Rodriguez’s Morning to evening.
Reboot of the 2001 family action film Spy Kids will star Virgin Jane actress Gina Rodriguez and The wonderful Mrs. Maiselstars Zachary Levi as the parents.

The children, who are central to the plot, will be played by Everly Carganilla and newcomer Connor Esterson.
Spy Kids will mark Rodriguez’s second family film collaboration with Netflix following his film We can be heroes. He wrote and directed the 2001 film, and picked up the pen again to co-write the script for the reboot with Racer Max and will produce as well as direct.
The new reboot will see the children of a spy power couple accidentally unleash a computer virus that gives a powerful game developer control over all technology. In an effort to save their parents, and the world, the children themselves must become secret agents to right their innocent wrongs.

The 2001s Spy Kids the film starred Antonio Banderas and Carla Gugino alongside child actors Alexa PenaVega and Daryl Sabara.
A box office success, the film spawned two direct sequels (Spy Kids: The Island of Lost Dreams and Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over) and a standalone film, Spy Kids: All the Time in the World.
Cotrona and Levi will team up again for roles in Shazam!: Fury of the Gods which comes to the cinema at 21 December 2022after a number of changes in the release date.
Netflix has yet to announce a release date for Spy Kids.
