Love Island’s Gemma shares surprising Luca romance update

Love the island Star Gemma Owen has admitted Luca Bish has yet to make things official between them, despite meeting her family.

During their time in the villa on the last series, Gemma admitted she preferred to wait until after he had met her family to make it official.

That has now happened, although it appears Luca still hasn’t popped the particular question, with Gemma admitting in a new interview that she was “still waiting”.

Gemma replied: “Well, I feel at this point, yes!”

Gemma added: “I mean, I know I said in the villa let’s wait until we get out, want you to meet the family, let’s not rush it. But now I’m like, okay…”

It comes after Gemma came to Lucas’ defense following criticism over his behavior in the villa.

“I think viewers only watch an hour a day,” she told Virgin Media’s The Six O’Clock Show. “People are put in different situations than you would see from the outside. People act differently in those kinds of situations.

“I personally think it’s unfair to judge someone right outside of that hour. I think there’s a lot more to it.”

The star suggested that viewers should give Luca the “benefit of the doubt”, adding: “I think certain actions may have been changed, but everyone makes mistakes. You’re put in situations where no one really understands unless you’re in there living it. “

Love the island is broadcast on ITV2 and is available via catch-up on ITV Hub and BritBox.
