Enola Holmes 2 finally has a release date on Netflix — and we even have the first look to mark the exciting news.
The sequel to the 2020 Netflix hit sees Enola Holmes (Millie Bobby Brown) take on her first official case after becoming a detective-for-hire like her brother Sherlock (Henry Cavill), following the events of the first film.
However, Enola’s first case to find a missing girl ends up involving a dangerous conspiracy and a mystery that requires the help of her friends – and Sherlock himself – to solve.
Enola Holmes 2 will be released on Netflix on November 4th and the first look images have been released, which you can see below:
In addition to Millie Bobby Brown and Henry Cavill, the sequel brings back Louis Partridge as Tewkesbury, Helena Bonham Carter as Enola’s mother Eudoria, Adeel Akhtar as Lestrade and Susan Wokoma as Edith.
Director Harry Bradbeer and writer Jack Thorne also returned for Enola Holmes 2which also stars David Thewlis, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, Hannah Dodd, Abbie Hern, Gabriel Tierney and Serrana Su-Ling Bliss.
Like the first film, the sequel will be inspired by The Enola Holmes Mysteries book series by Nancy Springer. The setup sounds like in the second book, The case of the left-handed ladywhich saw Enola trying to track down Lady Cecily Alistair.
We wouldn’t expect it to be a direct adaptation of the book as the first film wasn’t, but do expect some links to the source material.
Earlier this month, Brown spoke about how she was told when she was 10 years old that she was “too mature” by a casting director.
“[Hearing that] was very difficult because I thought [maturity] was a good thing. And then to be told that it wasn’t, that I wouldn’t make it in this business, it hurt so much. I was very disheartened by it,” she recalled.
Needless to say, her maturity didn’t exactly stop her.
Enola Holmes 2 will be released on Netflix on November 4.
