Erik ten Hag “furious” and feels “hung out to dry” at Manchester United

Erik ten Hag is ‘furious’ and feels ‘hung out to dry’ over Man United’s TERRIBLE summer transfer window and the saga surrounding Cristiano Ronaldo’s Old Trafford future… after the Dutchman was ‘promised five new signings’

  • Erik ten Hag has struggled to bring in the players he wants at Old Trafford
  • Manchester United have only made three new signings so far this window
  • Frustrations have increased on the back of back-to-back Premier League defeats
  • United suffered a miserable 4-0 defeat against Brentford which leaves them bottom

Erik ten Hag is reportedly furious with how Manchester United have run their summer transfer business.

It has been a disastrous start to the Dutchman’s helm at the club both on and off the pitch. They are at the bottom of the Premier League after losing their first two games of the season, while Ten Hag has struggled to bring in the players he wants.

The Mirror have reported that Ten Hag and his advisers are furious at how he has been let down in the transfer market, as well as the saga surrounding Cristiano Ronaldo’s future at the club, which has proved an unwelcome distraction.

United have managed to sign full-back Tyrell Malacia, midfielder Christian Eriksen and centre-back Lisandro Martinez, but the club have struggled to land other targets.

Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong has been their main target this summer, although they could miss out on the Dutcg international for Premier League rivals Chelsea.

It is believed that Ten Hag were promised that the club would bring in five new players this summer, but they are running out of time before the transfer window closes on September 1.

United have now been linked with Stuttgart’s Austrian striker Sasa Kalajdzic, although he is way down Ten Hag’s list of targets, according to The Mirror.

The 25-year-old has scored 24 goals and provided 10 assists in his 55 games for the German team.

Ronaldo’s future at the club has been a distraction after he expressed his desire to leave earlier this summer.

The Portuguese superstar wanted to leave Old Trafford after they failed to qualify for the Champions League, but he is likely to stay, with a lack of viable clubs able – or willing – to sign him.

Ronaldo made his first start of the season on Saturday against Brentford after missing most of pre-season.

United put in a woeful display as they were comfortably beaten 4-0 by Brentford, leaving them bottom of the table for the first time since 1992.

Other players United have been linked with have not been warmed to by the fans.

A move for Bologna’s Marko Arnautovic was stalled by fan backlash, while fans have also expressed concern over signing Adrien Rabiot from Juventus.

United are hoping to seal a £15million deal for Rabiot, but the move has stalled due to wage negotiations.

United’s season could get worse before it gets any better as they next face Liverpool at Old Trafford on August 22.

Frustration at the club’s lack of signings has led to more fan backlash against the Glazers, with more protests expected against the American owners before they play Jurgen Klopp’s side.
