Cobra Kai creators Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg have opened up about the future of the series beyond season 5 – which premiered earlier this month on Netflix.
In an interview with Varietydid they talk about what their plans are for season 6 and if they have any more plot lines worked out.
“We have more story to tell; we’re still figuring out the details of that,” Jon said.
“We are in the middle of filming another series that we have created and that is running shows The rash for Netflix, which is another passion project of ours.”

“The three of us have been friends since we were teenagers. When we make a show, we live together because it’s easier to continue working at night. After a long day of shooting The rashgoes the talk Cobra Kai very often,” he continued.
“There’s a lot to come, a lot of thinking ahead. There’s a lot we want to do with these characters and we’re giddy about the next step,” he added.
When asked if Johnny would train his child in karate in future seasons, Josh said, “We’re still in 2019 in our story, and the seasons tend to come pretty close to, if not immediately after, the previous season.”
“The fact that there’s a baby on the way is certainly a crucial piece of growth for Johnny Lawrence and a huge evolutionary leap for his relationship with Miguel, Robby and Carmen,” he added.

The creators also recently teased the return of John Kreese, the fan-favorite character played by Michael Kove who had escaped from prison.
In an interview with TVLinesaid Josh: “One of the best character traits about John Kreese is that he’s faked his death before! It was a really fun Easter egg for that character to lean into and go as fully as we did with the fake out.”
“We’ll just have to wait and see what’s in store for him,” he added.
